- Righto, first off I waffled...:
- : Disolve?! Zip?!?! Er, did I miss something? I downloaded a .LNX file
- : from somewhere (memory like a sieve!) and moved it over to my (t)rusty 128D.
- : When I tried to run it a message said to use Lynx on it. But on further
- : examination I found...
-
- And proceeded to spout abit about how to unLynx a file without Lynx, so
- Iceman of the Inner Circle (icebbs@ramlink.net) asked me:
-
- : Why make it more difficult than it already is? Did you get rid of the
- : extra bytes of garbage? Lynx doesn't really compact any, it just links the
- : files for easier transportation anyway.
-
- Difficult?! Naahhh!!! What WOULD have been difficult for me is sourcing out
- Omega Q II... Admittedly my way IS long winded my way, but I do like the
- hands on approach (-= Besides which, I'm a lazy git!! Actually, the only
- thing I could see that it helped with is retaining the original filename.
-
- : But why hassle with loading it in a monitor and hacking it when it just
- : takes a few seconds to use Omega Q II on it and get rid of the garbage
- : that shouldn't have been there in the first place????
-
- Well, like I said I don't have Omega Q II (I only use AR Zip/UnZip or Ice
- Machine) but I think that since I spend about 40%-50% of my time on my 128D
- in the Action Replay monitor the chances are that after the initial forage
- to see what had beed added to the file and working a route out to remove it
- I can probably now do the transfer in about the same time as Omega Q II and
- thats without having to wait for a utility to load!!
-
- But it is a personal thing. I only really sussed how to do it because I was
- too impatient to go back to the FTP and get Lynx. Now I know, I can't be
- naffed to go back for it anyway! I SAID I was a lazy git eh?! It fits in
- with my personality. I like to get a sense of achievement wherever its
- possible, and although there was very little here, every little helps...
-
- Anyway, I have to go, I'm just unpacking this 1001 Crew Cardcrunched file
- by hand... Wheres my hex calculator gone?!
